Bookmania
is a revival of Bookman Oldstyle (1901) and the swash-infested Bookmans of the 1960s.
But there’s plenty more to Bookmania than swashes. It's a family of modern, full-featured OpenType
fonts. It’s the revival I wished someone would do.
Filmotype Gay and
Filmotype Gem
are my latest contributions to the Filmotype revival project. Like all the faces in the Filmotype “G” series,
they are compressed sans serifs with Futura-like details, a style of lettering popular in the 1950s. The “G” series is my
favorite section of the Filmotype library, and I got involved in the revival project partly to see this
distinctive range of sans serifs made available again to designers.
